ICE-RETENTION TIPS FROM THE MANUFACTURER

To ensure your food stays cold and safe for consumption, follow these ice-retention tips:

LAYER YOUR COOLER: Keep food surrounded by ice to maintain a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (the FDA's recommended safe food temperature). Always top with a layer of ice for best results.

USE PLENTY OF ICE: Coolers regulate the average temperature of the contents inside. The more ice you use, the colder the temperatures will be, and the longer the ice will last.

KEEP THE LID CLOSED: Prevent hot air from entering and keep the cold air inside by keeping the lid closed.

PRE-CHILL FOOD AND DRINKS: The colder the items in the cooler, the longer they will stay cold.

KEEP IT IN THE SHADE: To avoid your cooler heating up quickly, always keep it out of direct sunlight and extreme heat.

MOST EFFECTIVE ICE LAYOUTS: When packing your cooler, layer food and ice from bottom to top: Food-Ice-Food-Ice. Ice should always be the top layer. Before placing items in the cooler, freeze or pre-chill them. Ensure that food and drinks are surrounded and topped with ice.

BEAR RESISTANT: This cooler is certified by the IGBC and can withstand a bear for up to an hour when locked.
